LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) is a key metric used to compare the cost of generating electricity from different energy sources, including solar PV, wind, fossil fuels, and nuclear power. It represents the total lifetime cost of a power system divided by the total energy produced over its lifespan, measured in $/MWh (dollars per megawatt-hour).

  • System lifespan & Degradation Rate
  • Energy Production Over Time

Utility Solar PV Pricing

Utility solar PV pricing refers to the cost of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects that supply electricity to the grid, typically operated by utilities or independent power producers (IPPs). These projects range from megawatt (MW) to gigawatt (GW) scale, making them the most cost-effective form of solar energy due to economies of scale and lower installation costs per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

The solar price for utility-scale projects is measured using LCOE, which  typically has the lowest LCOE among all solar PV sectors.
